Healing the Feminine:

Impotent rage and grief

TBC 2024

Do you feel it?

The deep impotent rage and grief of the wounded feminine has been felt for generations and thousands of years in places across the whole world. It has been felt but unable to be expressed.

The following are just a small handful of events that have contributed to our collective pain and trauma:

  • The Partition in India and the thousands and thousands of women and girls who were raped, abducted, mutilated, shamed, disowned and killed; and the resulting women and girls who either suicided or were killed by male relatives in an attempt to “save face” or prevent it happening to them;
  • Child brides (predominantly girls) in places including Africa, Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas;
  • The burning of witches (mostly women);
  • Female circumcision;
  • Killing or abandoning baby girls in China under the one child policy, and generations of favouring boys over girls in numerous societies around the world;
  • Women being written out of the bible and holy trinity with the father, son and holy spirit (but no mother);
  • Generations of women being treated as property of men, both before and after marriage, including Roman law giving a man life and death authority over his wife…

While your own unexpressed rage and grief may be personal to you, the emotions are a common experience many women feel.

Trauma doesn’t happen to an individual – it happens to the whole tribe

We, as women, are part of a greater community and tribe of women who have experienced grief, loss, despair, rage, powerlessness, abuse, horror, trauma, depression and so much more, in so many situations across multiple generations for centuries.

Our community and tribe exists outside of time and space – it extends into the past with our ancestors and their ancestors, and into the future with our children and our children’s children; it extends to our communities and tribes within our local area, and to our greater worldwide community. As we heal, so does our whole tribe heal. Mass wounding takes mass consciousness to heal.

Trauma doesn’t happen to an individual, it happens to the whole tribe.

Especially as women, we can carry our family trauma in our bodies

At just nine weeks into gestation, a female foetus starts making all the eggs she will have for the rest of her life (on the other hand, sperm doesn’t start developing until puberty for boys).

The egg that became us, was created by our mother while she was in our grandmother’s body. At four months, a female foetus has a fully developed reproductive system, including eggs.

This means we all spent at least 5 months in our grandmother’s womb, and in turn she spent at least 5 months in her grandmother’s womb and back through the generations.

We now know:

Trauma isn’t what happens to us, it’s what we hold inside of us…” – Peter Levine

And so, especially as women, we can carry generations of family trauma in our bodies.

Healing based on traditional indigenous cultures – the whole tribe coming together

Peter Levine tells of the Krenak Tribe in Brazil coming together when a mother fell into deep, almost catatonic, depression after giving birth to stillborn twins. Nothing was expected of the mother as she sat there while the tribe came together to move, do rituals, and eventually leading to people crying one after another, until the mother herself could finally cry and sob with her grief.

Similarly, the Pygmy tribe in Africa have been observed to come together when someone experiences a loss – the whole tribe gets together and all cry and sob, going on all night; and the next morning all join together dancing in joy and ecstasy.

Trauma doesn’t happen to an individual; it happens to the whole tribe. And so it takes the whole tribe to heal.

What will we do?

Together we will:

Share stories of grief, loss, trauma, heartbreak, pain, rage, fury… whatever is alive for you to share.
Sharing is optional and not required. You are welcome to come and just be part of the group. Nothing is expected or required of you.
Cry.
We may wail and scream and sob and heave.
Allow ourselves to feel and express your wild woman’s anger and rage and fury that has been unexpressed and bottled up for so long.
We may dance, move and sing – in grief, sorrow and loss; in anger, rage and fury; in powerlessness, despair and anguish; and maybe even in joy and ecstasy and celebration.

Above all else, it will be a naturally unfolding, organic process guided by the energy of the group.

Your facilitator

Kim Tiong

Kim is passionate about helping others create a deep, unshakable relationship with themselves and their lives. Where all parts of them and their journey are acknowledged and included. And from there, stepping into their personal power – the place where they stop fighting life, start working with life, and life really starts to flow.

Through deeply transformative workshops, retreats and sessions, Kim’s work is often described as “life changing”. That’s because Kim has been through the journey of change herself. In Kim’s own words:

“I know what it’s like to feel there is something fundamentally wrong with you and that you don’t belong. I know what it’s like to feel deeply alone. I know what it’s like to feel deep self-loathing and the pain of not wanting to be here in life… And I know what it’s like to go through the journey of change”.

Kim’s journey took her from Melbourne to Sydney to Bali and the USA. From NLP to Theta Healing to Timeline Therapy to coaching to Family Systemic Constellations, to Matrix Therapies and more. And while it didn’t happen overnight, through the work Kim was doing, little by little she felt and saw evidence of change – deeper more meaningful relationships with her parents, family and friends; feeling happier, freer and more naturally comfortable in who she is; and ultimately feeling she has found a deep, unshakable relationship with herself and her life.

[It was] such a welcoming, caring and safe space for healing. It is clear that [Kim] puts significant amounts of thought into how [she] applies [her] skills and when it feels right and it isn’t “textbook”. The work that I have undertaken with Kim has been life changing and integral in my healing journey.

I entered this two day retreat with a completely open mind and did not fully understand what I was in for. This two day retreat with Kim opened up to individuals the opportunity to come together and participate together, help each other, support each other, respect each other without even realising as although a roller coaster of emotions came with this, it was extremely rewarding and for my own personal journey I found it invaluable. Definitely recommend to anyone and I will look forward for another chance to participate.

I am still so grateful for attending [Kimberley’s] weekend workshop, I really found it life changing.”

“I shared so much more [at Kimberley’s weekend workshop] than I ever thought I would. I felt so safe and supported”

“I wasn’t sure what to expect… [Kimberley’s] weekend definitely exceeded my expectations

I would thoroughly recommend Kimberley….

“I would thoroughly recommend Kimberley to take you on a journey of deep self-exploration, and exploration of your current family and historic family dynamics affecting you. She is gentle, astute, intuitive and has been through the journey herself. I found time with Kimberley invaluable.” – Anna-Jane

I gained so much insight into what had been holding me back and why some of my behaviours were what they were….

“I gained so much insight into what had been holding me back and why some of my behaviours were what they were….a response to trauma. I met some amazing people who’s own experiences taught me something along the way. I learnt new ways of thinking, ways to adjust and respond to negative thinking. Most importantly I learnt that stuffing everything down over the years had taken its toll and was still all there waiting to be dealt with. The weekend guided me and allowed a truly safe, loving space to unload it all. I am so very grateful for Kimberley’s guidance, love, teachings and compassion” – Renee

I met Kim in 2019 after my divorce. It was such a tough time, I was trying to figure out why I repeated the same problems from previous relationships even though I desperately wanted a happy family. I only had 1 session with Kim but it was an amazing life transformation. I released so much pain that had been stuck deep down inside me for over 30 years. Kim helped me find the core root of the problem and face my biggest fear from childhood. Kim was so professional every single second that she was with me. I felt safe and trusting. Since working with Kim I have overcome my fear of being alone, handling life as a single parent, and have moved on to find the right partner for me. Since then, my mental health has improved, as has my decision making and my insecurity. I learned to forgive and let go of the past, and I also found my happiness. I have recommended Kim to many of my friends and others – people that have been struggling with their lives, relationships, emotions, family matters, people going through divorce and separation. I spent 2 hours with Kim, I will never forget that experience and I will always remember because of that 2 hours, I now have the life I have right now. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! -Bella Le
